ICYMI: Future Forum PAC Endorsed Candidates are Taking on GOP Corruption in Battleground Districts Across the Country

WASHINGTON, D.C.– In battleground districts across the country, Future Forum PAC endorsed candidates are taking a stand for American families and launching anti-corruption platforms. Our candidates are running on the simple principle: public servants should be accountable to the people they represent, not use public office to better themselves.

Overwhelmingly, young voters are sick and tired of the rampant corruption in our government. From the gas pump to the grocery checkout line to the housing market, costs just keep rising and young Americans increasingly feel they are being priced out of the American dream. Yet, Trump-backed Republicans in Congress are looking out only for their own bottom lines. They are playing the stock market right before they vote to gut healthcare and using their political influence to funnel business to their own companies. Moreover, as Donald Trump rakes in billions of dollars and uses the office of the presidency to line the pockets of his billionaire corporate donors, these Republicans in Congress just keep turning a blind eye.

Future Forum endorsed candidates know voters are fed up and deserve better than these pay-to-play politics. They are running to rein in the corruption that is plaguing Washington and driving up costs for Americans. Take a look about what our candidates are saying:

Zach Dembo, KY-06: “As a JAG officer, US Attorney and Senior Advisor to Governor Andy Beshear, serving our country and serving Kentucky have always been my north stars. Service before self has been central to my life, but what we have now is a Congress that has become consumed by a culture of corruption. That corruption has cost our families, driven up our prices and enriched politicians more interested in their own bottom lines than us. I am running to end that corruption by banning corporate PAC money, implementing term limits and barring Members of Congress from becoming lobbyists, so Washington finally works for Kentucky, not itself.”

Sarah Trone Garriot, IA-03: “It’s getting so much harder to get by and at the root of all of that, what’s causing all of that dysfunction in Washington is the corruption. It’s the money. It’s the self dealing. It’s the self serving. We need to bring it to an end.”

Paige Congetti, PA-08: “People want a government that works. They know the system is rigged against them and they’re sick of it….I’m running for Congress with that same mission to take on corruption wherever we see it. We are tired of Washington politicians enriching themselves while selling us out. Members of Congress have created a system where the rules apply to the rest of us, but not to them. We all know that’s wrong and I’m running to change it.”

Cait Conley, NY-17: “This isn’t just what we’re fighting against. Yes, I do want to rein in this administration. I want to make sure Donald Trump and everyone loyal to him understands that the rule of law applies to everyone, including them. But it is also what we are fighting for. I do believe corruption on both sides has fueled a lot of that dysfunction we are seeing in D.C. I will tell you on day one I will co-write legislation to implement term limits and ban stock trading for members of Congress. Because members need to be focusing on how they can deliver with the time they have for the people and not how they can benefit themselves.”

Jake Johnson, MN-01: “[I]t drives me crazy to watch politicians in Washington treat taxpayers like an ATM. Because at the end of the day, the government doesn’t have its own money….When the government wastes money, that’s our money being wasted. When fraudsters steal from government programs, that’s our money being stolen. When politicians cut essential programs to hand out favors to special interests, run up trillions in debt, and start wars that never seem to end, it’s you and I who foot the bill. Washington has forgotten a simple principle: taxpayer money comes from the taxpayers…. It’s time that we make the math add up in Washington again.”
